NIAAA SCHOLOR ATHLETE NOMINATIONS

We wanted to let you know of some awards that your amazing student-athletes and athletic directors are eligible for.

The NIAAA Student Scholarship Essay is a will recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life. Attached to this email are the forms necessary for your student-athletes to apply. You can also find the NIAAA Student Scholarship Application on the AIAAA website. All applications are to be sent electronically to Julie.patton@guhsdaz.org. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2023.

The Frank Kovaleski Professional Development Award is presented to an NIAAA member who has contributed to the vision of professional development through such areas as instruction, writing, presenting and service. The recipient has made significant contributions in these areas and demonstrated excellence at the local, state and national levels. The application for the Frank Kovaleski can be found on the AIAAA website.

NFHS Citations are awarded to individuals whose contributions have impacted high school activity programs through their association with one of the following groups of professionals: state associations and NFHS staff, athletic directors, coaches, officials, music adjudicators and directors, and speech, debate and theatre directors. The application for the NFHS Citation Award can be found on the AIAAA website.

The Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to individuals from within the NIAAA membership in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels. The application for the Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award can be found on the AIAAA website.

The NIAAA State Award of Merit is an award presented annually by each state to an individual who is an NIAAA member and is deemed by the state association to have performed meritorious service to the state. The application for the State Award of Merit can be found on the AIAAA website.

Please take the opportunity to recognize your student-athletes and your fellow colleagues for these awards.
